Harvesting, Ploughing, Spraying & Soil Conditioning

milesponder82

What changes we have seen over recent months across the fields.

This is the first year that anything has been planted and grown on the fields since what I believe is the late 1990's. In 2022, we have experienced both Wheat and Mustard grow. The Wheat was harvested and the Mustard ploughed back into the ground. The ground was then sprayed and this week, soil conditioner was applied which I expect was agricultural lime.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation have confirmed that going forward, a contractor is ploughing, sowing and harvesting the fields and it hasn't been leased to an individual. All other land maintenance such as the footpaths, trees and hedges are being undertaken by a variety of other contractors.

Here are some photos I have taken of the changes from early summer to earlier this week.
